PADI Specialities take your underwater adventure to new depths, giving you new and enjoyable dive experiences.
These courses are a great way for divers to familiarise themselves with new skills, knowledge, techniques, problems and hazards involved with special-interest areas in diving.

Speciality Course Information

1. Boat Diver +
Intro
Through the PADI Boat Diver Specialty course, you can learn the techniques and procedures for diving from different types of boats. The more boats you're diving from, the more diving you're doing.
Course explanation
As part of your PADI Boat Diver Specialty course, you'll learn about:
- Boat diving planning, organization, procedures, techniques, problems and hazards
- Proper boat diving etiquette, including equipment storage and conduct
- Common boat terminology
- Specific and local boat diving laws and ordinances
Length of course
Two dives, typically over one day.

2. Deep Diver +
Intro
The PADI Deep Diver Speciality course teaches you the techniques and procedures for diving to deeper depths. This will allow you to explore greater areas of the sea and visit areas previously out of reach.
Course explanation
You'll learn deep dive planning, organization, procedures, techniques and hazards. You'll also put this knowledge to the test as you go on four open water dives that range from 18 - 40 metres / 60 - 130 feet.
Length of course
Four dives over two days.
Prerequisites
Minimum age 15.
PADI Adventure Diver or PADI Advanced Open Water (or equivalents from other training organisations).

3. Dry Suit Diver +
Intro
If you want to see the spectacular and prolific aquatic life often found in colder water climates you'll need to stay warm and that means a dry suit.
Course explanation
During your PADI Dry Suit Diver Specialty course, you'll not only cover the background knowledge related to dry suit diving, you'll get into confined water to put that theory into practice. Then, once you've mastered confined water, it's time for two open water dives.
Length of course
As little as one day in open water, and one or two confined water sessions.

4. Enriched Air Diver +
Intro
Maximize your time with the upgraded PADI Enriched Air Diver course. Enriched Air Diver saves you time by allowing you to:
- Stay underwater longer
- Get back into the water sooner
- Get your certification while simultaneously completing dives for other PADI courses
Plus, by diving with Enriched Air you may feel less tired on your vacation.
Course explanation
You will learn preparation and diving procedures involved with enriched air diving.

One evening.

5. Night Diver +
Intro
When you go night diving you'll see a whole new world. Even your local dive site takes on a new personality at night, as many underwater creatures and plant life (different from those you see during the day) are active at night.
Course explanation
You'll learn night dive planning, organization, procedures, techniques and potential problems. You'll also learn how to control your buoyancy, navigate and communicate at night. Since many of the plants and animals you'll see are different, you'll also get an introduction to nocturnal aquatic life.
Length of course
Three dives over one day.
Prerequisites
Minimum age 12 years.
PADI Open Water (or equivalent from other dive training organisation).

6. Peak Performance Bouyancy +
Intro
If you want to fine-tune your buoyancy and soar over reefs, extend bottom time by reducing air consumption and prolong the life of your dive equipment, the Peak Performance Buoyancy Specialty course is for you.
Course explanation
During your Peak Performance Buoyancy Specialty course, you'll use PADI's Basic Weighting Guidelines to determine the correct amount of weight. Then you'll practice the fundamentals of peak performance buoyancy during two open water dives, including the buoyancy check, fine-tuning buoyancy underwater, weight positioning for trim, streamlining and visualisation.

Two dives over one day.

7. Search and Recovery Diver +
Intro
Have you ever dropped something in the water? Are you looking for lost treasure? The PADI Search and Recovery Diver Specialty course will teach you effective ways to find objects underwater and bring them to the surface.
Course explanation
You'll learn search and recovery dive planning, organization, procedures, techniques and potential problems. You'll also cover limited visibility, search patterns and safe object recovery using lift devices.
Length of course
Four dives over two days.
Prerequisites
Minimum age 12 years.
PADI Advanced Open Water (or equivalent from other dive training organisation)
OR PADI Open Water AND Underwater Navigation certification (or equivalents from other dive training organisation).

8. Wreck Diver +
Intro
The lure of exploring sunken vessels, airplanes and automobiles is something most divers can't resist. The PADI Wreck Diver Specialty course introduces you to wreck diving and helps you develop the skills and knowledge necessary for safe and fun wreck diving.
Course explanation
Information contained in your wreck diver program includes:
- The planning, organization, procedures, techniques, problems and hazards of wreck diving
- The preparation and use of lights, air supplies, special equipment, penetration lines and reels
- Limited-visibility diving techniques and emergency procedures
Length of course
Four dives over two days.
Prerequisites
