Learn to dive
Scuba diving is a highly enjoyable and rewarding activity, which can be undertaken safely if divers have the correct level at training. Matthew's Sharks primary goal is to ensure that our divers know how to dive safely at home and abroad.
The first step towards becoming a qualified diver is the Discover Scuba Diving program, this is not compulsory, but helps you decide if diving is something you enjoy and introduces you to our team.
The first certification to gain is PADI Openwater, which makes you a qualified scuba diver. The course involves learning some dive theory, learning and practising skills in the safe, supervised environment of a pool, and completing four open water dives.
After completing the PADI Open Water course there are many more courses on offer, including learning about deep diving, wreck diving, underwater navigation, all of which count towards your PADI Advanced Open Water. You may even want to take one of our RYA Powerboating courses or become a PADI Divemaster, which is the first step towards becoming an Instructor!
The diagram below shows all of the courses on offer by PADI, and which order they are taken in.
