Harbour Lights Scuba Diving logo

Harbour Lights Scuba Diving started in 2000 when Gordon Harland, having passed his PADI Instructor course realised there was no club for people that had been trained by PADI. Since then the club has gone from strength to strength.

Since Matthews Sharks was established as a subsidiary of HLSD, HLSD has focused on people aged from 21 onwards, with an emphasis on the older, more mature diver. The club meets every Thursday night at the Sports Centre in Hemel Hempstead. Pool nights are very important to us, as this is where we keep our skills up to date.

People that have not dived for some time have the opportunity to come down to brush up on their skills before diving or going on a holiday which will involve diving. Other members come to try out new kit & equipment in a pool and to double check other kit is working before going out on a dive.

We have a very active dive program throughout the year, in the UK and overseas. The club has its own 6 metre RIB & 15 complete sets of scuba diving kit & equipment. We have a 10 metre hard boat on the island of Tenerife, also with scuba diving kit and equipment out there.
